The suggestion that burning trash to produce energy will "green" South Carolina is simply a smoke screen. A New Jersey-based company, Covanta Energy, claims that locating a mega "waste to energy" facility in rural Chester County will bring new green jobs to our state. But its giant incinerator would no doubt be fueled by out-of-state garbage and would generate 160 tons per day of unwanted toxic ash waste. Read the Full Article.
