A clean, energy-secure America

Many South Carolinians may not realize it, but our state’s conservationists and military veterans enjoy strong ties. In part, it is because so many men and women in uniform are also avid hunters and anglers. It is also the case that our military bases, from Fort Jackson and Shaw Air Force Base to Parris Island, have conservation programs to protect the wildlife buffers around their facilities.
Recently, however, our ties have grown closer because we see eye to eye on energy.
After decades of empty rhetoric by others, Sen. Lindsey Graham will introduce federal legislation this week designed to lower our dependence on foreign oil and promote clean, American energy. And as members of the conservation and military communities in South Carolina, we both applaud his leadership. Read the full article.
